Dr Sandra Sharp is a registered nurse with over fifteen years of experience working in acute care Scotland and Australia. Her clinical roles included working in intensive and coronary care units.
Her clinical roles have spanned intensive care, coronary care units, clinical education, and practice development. Currently, Sandra serves as the programme leader for the BSc Nursing Studies (Singapore).
Sandra is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students while supervising PhD candidates. Her research focuses on person-centred care and workforce development. Additionally, she is the clinical academic representative for a major workforce development project across NHS Lothian.
Course Curriculum
This is a part-time 24-month programme. Lessons will be conducted on-campus. Each lesson will be held in blocks of 2 to 3 hours and be conducted by fly-in international lecturers.
Combining theory with practical assessments, our nursing degree is designed to be feedback-positive to ensure that you receive valuable advice and insights for practising nursing in Singapore.
All MDIS Healthcare and Nursing students will have access to in-house nursing equipment and undergo simulation-based nursing training in our state-of-the-art Nursing Practicum Lab.

Assessment
Assessment methods include essays, projects, portfolios, reflective analysis and practical assessments or Observable Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).

Admission Criteria
Applicants must be of age 18 and above and possess one of the following entrance requirements:
Registered nurses with SNB who hold a certificate or diploma in nursing and a current practising certificate (full and conditional registration only) issued by SNB.
Further Studies & Career Prospect
Our part-time nursing degree programme graduates are empowered with the knowledge, skills and abilities to practice collaboratively across diverse healthcare settings and communities, aligned with the Singapore Nursing Board’s Domains of Practice and global health perspectives.
Upon successful completion, you will be poised for graduate-level employment as a Staff Nurse, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator or Nurse Researcher.
Graduates can also further their studies by pursuing a Master’s degree to pursue career prospects in more senior positions such as Advanced Practice Nurse. This degree allows direct admission to the Healthcare and Nursing Master’s programme.
